2026: Pin Oak MS is again, for the third consecutive year, recognized by US News and World Report as one of the 2026 Best Public Schools in the country - top 1% in the state of Texas.

2026: Pin Oak has once again been officially designated a No Place for Hate School for the 2025-2026 school year.

2026: Pin Oak Technology Student Association students were invited by the Houston Education Foundation to showcase their Ideation Fund project at the Houston ISD Foundation State of the District event. This opportunity allowed them to present their creativity and innovation on a distinguished platform. Even more exciting, our superintendent visited with the students to learn firsthand about their inspiring work.

2026: Pin Oak Dance Company competed at the Crowd Pleasers Nationals competition and earned 1st Place in Small Ensemble, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, and Pom, and was crowned National Champion in the Small Middle School Team Division.

2026: Ms. Corso has been named Librarian of the Year by the Texas Library Association.

2026: Advanced Orchestra earns Sweepstakes at UIL Concert and Sight Reading.

2026: Advanced Band earns Sweepstakes at UIL Concert and Sight Reading.

2026: German students proudly competed in the Texas State German Contest for the very first time! In every event Pin Oak entered, our students placed in the top five, earning medals, ribbons, or trophies in all categories.

2026: Academic UIL Meet 3 AGAIN our students earned an impressive 18 medals across multiple events including first place in Modern Oratory, Number Sense, and Spelling.

2026: Pin Oak Technology Student Association (TSA) VEX IQ Robotics team earned the Design Award at Lamar University’s College of Engineering in Beaumont and is currently ranked #1 in Texas for TSA VEX skills, competing against students from around the world.

2026: Historic win for Pin Oak MS Junior Classical League (JCL)! Students earn first place at the Rice Owl Certamen in their first competition - beating high school teams and elite private schools along the way.

2025: Academic UIL team earns top honors AGAIN including 17 medals in their November 2025 meet. Medals won in Social Studies, Art, Dictionary Skills, Listening Skills & Maps/Graphs/Charts.

2026: 8th Grade Girls Basketball earns 2nd place at the San Jacinto Basketball Tournament.

2025: Academic UIL team earns top honors including 17 medals in their September 2025 meet. Medals won in Editorial Writing, Modern Oratory, Number Sense, Spelling, and Ready Writing.

2025: Over 600 families participated in our first annual World Language Expo where student work and projects were showcased to the community.

2025: Speech and Debate team received first place at their first district UIL meet, earning first place rankings in Public Forum and Congressional Debate.

2025: POMS Choir students participated in the HISD Solo & Ensemble Contest and all 8 earned the highest rating of a 1!

2025: Girls 8th grade volleyball continued their district domination by earning District Champions for the fourth year in a row.

2025: Congratulations to Malley Lutschg, one of the 2025 iWRITE Publishing Contest winners! Her poem "Big and Small" will be published in Volume 16 of I Write Short Stories by Kids for Kids. An incredible honor and international recognition!

2025: Mrs. Girard, our 8th grade Integrated Physics and Chemistry teacher, wins Pin Oak Teacher of the Year 2025! She inspires, leads, and brings the magic every single day.

2025: Pin Oak MS earns TEA rating of "A" for the 2024-2025 school year, earning all distinctions including top academic achievement in math, science, social studies, and English language arts. Top 25% composite academic success of all Texas schools, top 25% of all Texas schools for "closing the gaps."

2025: Pin Oak MS starts the 2025-2026 school year with its highest enrollment in school history.

2025: Pin Oak adds its 15th high school credit class for the 2025-2026 school year.

2025: Pin Oak's Technology Student Association participated in the TSA national competition and was named TSA NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! Students took first place in Middle School Mass Production with a stackable, modular pet drawer system. We crushed it with Top 10 finishes in 5 events — Coding, Microcontrollers, Electrical Applications, Community Service Video & more — out of thousands nationwide!
