Performing Arts
Band
In this course, students will explore the world of music through the study and practice of various wind and percussion instruments, such as the flute, clarinet, saxophone, oboe, bassoon, trumpet, French horn, euphonium, tuba, and percussion. Through a combination of instructor-led lessons and practice, students will develop their skills in rhythm, pitch, tone quality, and musical expression. They will also learn how to read sheet music and gain an understanding of basic music theory concepts such as melody, harmony, and dynamics. Through rehearsals and performances, students will gain experience in playing as a group and developing their ensemble skills, such as listening to each other, blending, and following a conductor. By the end of the course, students will have gained a solid foundation in playing their chosen instrument and be able to perform a variety of musical pieces with confidence and musicality. They will also have an appreciation for the power of music to create emotion, tell stories, and bring people together. Audition is required for intermediate and advanced levels.

Orchestra

Choir
In this course, students will explore the world of choral singing through the study and practice of vocal techniques, music theory, and ensemble singing. Through a combination of instructor-led lessons and practice, students will develop their vocal skills in pitch, rhythm, and tone quality. They will also learn how to read sheet music, understand basic music theory concepts such as melody and harmony, and work collaboratively with others in a choir setting. Through rehearsals and performances, students will gain experience in following a conductor, working collaboratively with others, and expressing themselves through music. By the end of the course, students will have gained a solid foundation in choral singing and be able to perform a variety of musical pieces with confidence and musicality. They will also have an appreciation for the power of music to bring people together and create a sense of community. Students will sing selections in performance concerts.
Audition is required for intermediate and advanced levels.
Guitar
In this course, students will explore the fundamentals of playing guitar, including music theory, proper technique, and basic chord progressions. Through a combination of instructor-led lessons and hands-on practice, students will develop their skills in playing both acoustic and electric guitar. They will also learn how to read sheet music and tablature and gain an understanding of basic music theory concepts such as rhythm, melody, and harmony. By the end of the course, students will have gained a solid foundation in playing guitar and be able to play a variety of musical pieces with confidence and musicality. They will also have an appreciation for the rich history of guitar music and its role in popular culture. Beginning, intermediate and advanced options are available.
Theatre
In this course, students will explore the world of theater through the study and practice of acting, stagecraft, and theater history. Through a combination of instructor-led lessons and practice, students will develop their skills in acting techniques, such as vocal projection, stage presence, and character development. They will also gain an understanding of basic stagecraft concepts such as set design, lighting, and sound. Through class performances and projects, students will have the opportunity to put their skills into practice and showcase their creativity. Additionally, students will learn about the history of theater, including notable playwrights, actors, and productions throughout history. By the end of the course, students will have a solid foundation in theater and be able to confidently participate in a variety of theatrical productions. They will also have an appreciation for the art form of theater and the important role it plays in society. Audition is required for Intermediate & Advanced levels.
Dance
In this course, students will explore the world of dance through the study and practice of various dance styles, including ballet, modern, jazz, and cultural dances. Through a combination of instructor-led lessons and practice, students will develop their skills in rhythm, coordination, and musicality. They will also learn the fundamentals of dance techniques, such as posture, alignment, and movement quality. Through performances and showcases, students will have the opportunity to showcase their newfound dance skills and gain experience in performance and stage presence. By the end of the course, students will have gained a solid foundation in dance and be able to perform a variety of dance styles with confidence and grace. They will also have an appreciation for the artistry and creativity of dance as a form of self-expression and cultural identity. The competition group Company is audition only.
Hip Hop
In this course, students will learn the fundamentals of hip-hop dance, including basic steps, combinations, and choreography. Through a combination of instructor-led lessons and practice, students will develop their skills in rhythm, coordination, and musicality. They will also gain an understanding of hip-hop dance culture, including its history and significance in popular culture. By the end of the course, students will have gained a solid foundation in hip-hop dance and be able to perform a variety of dance moves and routines with confidence and style. They will also have an appreciation for the artistry and creativity of hip-hop dance as a form of self-expression and cultural identity. The competition group Crew is audition only.
Visual Art
Art
In this course, students will explore a variety of artistic media and techniques, including drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture. Through a combination of individual and collaborative projects, students will learn the fundamentals of art, such as color theory, composition, and perspective, as well as develop their own unique artistic style. They will study the works of famous artists and art movements, and gain an understanding of the cultural and historical contexts in which art is created. By the end of the course, students will have gained confidence in their artistic abilities and developed a deeper appreciation for the role of art in their lives and in society.
